Fieldhead campsite is situated in Edale Village, a picturesque location at the start of the Pennine Way. It is owned by the Peak District National Park Authority and is situated at their Information Centre and Park Ranger station/Mountain Rescue Post. It is well used and well liked by Youth Organisations such as the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Scout, Guides and Cadetships. Its 5 small camping fields surrounding the visitor centre makes it ideal for Youth groups to be supervised by teachers or Youth leaders, at the same time as enabling students to be self-sufficient and independent. Wardens living on site mean that help is always at hand in the event of any problems. Trained staff and Rangers at the Information Centre are always available with first hand local knowledge to enable people of all ages and abilities to enjoy this part of the Peak District.
