| Welcome to Western House Bed and Breakfast |
|
Luxurious and spacious loft accommodation right at the start of the Pennine Way. Perfect for a Romantic Break or a reunion of friends. Western House is a traditional 1850’s Edale, gitsone house standing in Grindsbrook Booth - one of the five ancient settlements forming the parish of Edale. The house stands at the official start of the famous Pennine Way. The rallying point for the mass trespass of the nineteen thirties is at the bottom of our lane. At Western House we offer; Western House is set in a quiet location among a cluster of cottages of a similar age, and older, at the foot of Grindsbrook Clough in one of the country’s now scarce dark spots, with no street lighting and hence no light pollution. From the front gate there are some of the best and most picturesque walks in the Peak District. Guests are welcome to use the well stocked and maintained garden, which in summer is a colourful array of roses, flowering shrubs and bedding planted pots and tubs. Edale has two pubs the Old Nag’s Head and the Ramblers – both of which are within very easy walking distance from the house. There is also a Post Office round the corner with a small general store, and a nineteenth century church. In addition we have two local coffee shops, The Penny Pot - Brackets National Trust and Cooper’s Cafe (free wi-fi). There are unbeatable views in every direction - Kinder Scout, The Nab, Lose Hill, Mam Tor and Grindslow Knoll here are a few photos taken from our windows.
